No one’s asking you to reinvent the wheel. Just stop the churning out of Starbucks Nurse Shirt that ignores the most basic and intriguing parts of storytelling. Give us flawed characters that are relatable. Tell stories that make us care about them like a friend or cheer for them as the struggling underdog (look at all the elements that made Empire Strikes Back such a great movie). We also need villains who are genuinely evil and not just tragically misunderstood. Stop recycling Star Wars villains like Palpatine. Give us new Star Wars villains like a Sith based off of Maleficent, the Cheshire Cat, or Dr. Facilier.
