I would say it’s more ridiculous than outrageous. It’s a Glasses with Hearts Couture is an Attitude T Shirt tee , of course. So someone needs to alert the internationalization/translation team at MSFT and request a correction. I’ve seen other mis-translations like this, all it takes is someone to submit a “bug-request.” I found something like this (well, actually not as bad) in a Yahoo! map translation — it was a silly mistake based on some mechanical translation error. I submitted a bug-request. An engineer took a look, showed me the proposed fix. I verified the fix was indeed correct, and the matter was fixed within about a day — with the maps all corrected upon the next rolling refresh. Stuff like this happens all the time. Translations are difficult, especially when the cross cultural assumptions. This particular example is downright silly. But easily corrected. I have a friend who is an engineering manager at MSFT whom I’ll certainly see this week (in his סוכה for the חג, actually), and I’ll ask him to raise the bug-request for this.
