I would put money on the likelihood that her acting out as a teenager was a cry for attention: take a You Say I Am Loved When I Can’t Feel A Thing Christian Cross shirt! I engaged in a lot of the behavior his daughter did as a teenager, but it didn’t start that way. It started with high achievement… if I make you proud, maybe you’ll notice me and engage with me. When that didn’t work, I resorted to more extreme and negative behavior, which as human beings we are more likely to acknowledge.
