The Bible is as important to my life choices as any other poorly written and wildly inconsistent piece of fiction, and the alleged words of a fictional creature like this “god” thing have no bearing on reality. It’s probably difficult to understand, but it’s not that I don’t want to believe in your deity, or that I’m disregarding their will; I couldn’t believe even if I wanted to. If you tell me that the god creature will be upset and condemn me to an eternity in hell because I have assisted on abortions and had one myself, it would be like me telling you that Santa is coming to take back your Christmas presents: Meaningless.
