I took many figure drawing classes when I was at Parsons almost 20 yrs ago. It’s true – full figured women are wonderful to draw. But better yet, seeing the beauty in a full figured woman forever changed how I looked at my own body. I ceased being critical and If you think my attitude stinks you should smell my cleats shirt. I came to realize a body – no matter what size, shape or form – is a beautiful thing. Every body is unique and that should be celebrated! I’m trying to now instill this in my preteen & have shown her some drawings I kept from that time.
