How lovely!! We had a black cat picked up and brought in 10 days after the Grumpy black cat what cat shirt. She was emaciated(1.2 kg) and had lost her footpads entirely and some toes. We named her “Cinders” risen from the ashes. She had anesthetics and dressing changes every 2 days for months. Despite extensive advertising she was never claimed. She was ultimately homed with a lovely family who adored her and laid carpet runners all through their home so that she wouldn’t have pain walking on the scars where she once had pads. She was one of innumerable pets we treated for months on end gratis. We were really struggling financially as a clinic as a result. RSPCA donated our practice over $30000 to cover some of our expenses out of the bushfire fund. If you ever wonder what happened to some of the absolutely generous donations, we were one of the recipients and I’m forever grateful. We were also fire affected at home, on our farm so the donation kept our heads above water as a practice long enough that we could get started again. Thank you all.
