This story reminds me of Baseball Mom Straight Outta Money And Laundry T-Shirt friend Paula! I was one of the few black girls in my school and I remember she smiled at me and invited me to her birthday party. We were inseparable after that. I was at her house all the time. Her family was so nice! They let me take ice skating classes w/Paula since her little brother was in hockey and did not need his classes. She was the only person I ever knew that didnt eat sweets. We would go to the health food stores and buy sugar free candy 😷. She moved away in 4th grade. No social media back then. I lost my best friend.
