However, there comes a time when using them becomes counter productive as they look and feel just like diapers. Once they figure out that you can go in them they cease being underwear. It only takes a few hours to ruin weeks of progress in a kiddo that age. So no pullups are not the answer. And usually when they say ” Mommy I have to go” they mean they have had to go for a while and it’s do or die. Once you’ve had a kid pee in a car seat and understand that it soaks everything and runs everywhere (including the seat underneath) you might be a little less quick to judge.
