As a widow I can tell you that the only cure for grief is grieving. Opening yourself up to the emotion is not a weakness, it’s a strength. People will try to tell you it gets easier, it doesn’t it simply changes. If you are brave enough grief can open you up in ways you never expected, it hurts like nothing else I felt but it adds a depth to my life that I’d never have Holy with a hint of hood pray with me sweatshirt. The cost of that depth was far to high and not one many of us would readily pay but I have to believe something good, how ever small, can come of something so tragic. Breath, give yourself time and, most importantly, give yourself permission to feel.
