My brother and I visited this memorial and United States Marine Corps American flag shirt, in a wheel chair, being pushed by his elderly son. I made eye contact with him and he asked if I had counted the hands around the pole. He further reiterated there were thirteen hands on that pole. I proceeded to walk around the memorial twice and only counted twelve hands on the pole. It was later that day I saw him again.
