My grandparents on my Mom’s side were born in 1899 and 1898, on Dad’s side in 1899 and 1901. I wish I had been interested in history when they were alive and could have interviewed them. My mother wrote a story about her parents based on their recollections of those years. My grandmother was a school teacher and staying with my grandfather’s family in South Dakota when the 1918 Spanish Flu epidemic hit.
